LOBA LOCA
selected for ERIAC’s 2026 Film Pitch Deck
showcased at the Cannes Film Festival
Loba Loca is a powerful creative documentary that reconstructs a fractured identity through artistic expression. The film follows Clara, a Hungarian Roma-Colombian artist who transforms the preparation of her new exhibition into a space for self-discovery. As the daughter of a Hungarian Roma father and a Colombian immigrant mother, Clara grew up between worlds that rarely aligned. Facing the pressure of Hungary’s intensifying political climate under Viktor Orbán alongside her own struggle with postpartum depression, artistic creation becomes an urgent necessity. At Bura Gallery in Budapest—a pioneering Roma art space—she develops masked female figures that merge the diverse layers of her complex heritage, bridging intimate family memory and public performance.
The title Loba Loca—a playful reference to Clara’s surname intertwined with her mother’s native language—reflects a collaged documentary form exploring concealed identities. The project was selected for ERIAC’s 2026 Film Pitch Deck, showcased at the Cannes Film Festival within the Creative Europe MEDIA Pavilion at the Marché du Film, connecting Roma stories with international producers, distributors, and funding bodies.
My creative contribution to the project includes crafting the key hero shot and editing the trailer, capturing the raw visual atmosphere and intimate strength of Clara’s narrative for global industry partners.
